Aside from the obvious benefits of a searchable database of sites cross referenced and tagged by fund raisers and archieved for prosterity this site also contains many elements of flash widget based technology and slide options replicating the experience of the P.D.A interface and training staff to use similarly facility based software.

The site contains within it structure (though not immediately on display) :

The ability to communicate more effectively with the entire fundraising team through the site itself and the attached free email system that users can register for. Through those emails all communications are achieved for the face2face team.

Interactive rotas updated daily through google doc and shared with ENTIRE face2face team!

The potential for daily updated news & pics of most successful fundraiser. Instant online Kudos!

Many tools of the trade in the articles and sidebars which can be added to with ease.

EasySMS : EasySMS is a great way for Wordpress administrators to SMS message their readers and broadcast a new post to users cell phones. Admins can group subscribers together for more productive SMS messaging.

The ability to “SHIELD” the site from public view. Only registered members can view site and even then there can be added levels to which various members can access based on a easy to maintain heirachy.

Login security facility : 4 failed login attemps blocks user from site*

The rotas updated daily would give each fundraiser an overview for how successful they are and tie in with the olympics.

They would be for reference (different teams in same location would be able to see how other teams have done there that week or previously.)

They would also be to inspire daily/weekly ongoing competetion.

More visable recognition for fundraisers.

A daily league table.

More visable recognition for fundraisers.

The potential to build up a comprehensive site guide with google map link of area/tfl link for travel information/the ability to search and see the sites previous results for other teams to plan ahead.

Local info passed on about the rhythm of the place. Is it busy all day or at certain local peak times? Are there particular standing spots that are goldmines? Are there local people we should be made aware of? Particularly fine drinking establishments or eateries?

In short the rota could inspire/share skills & local information/act as a one stop page for travel info & delineations/act as an archieve accessable to fund raisers of personal and team achievements at various sites.

The hidden pages could also hold an online photo gallery of teams for a wall of fame.

Suggestions box for staff.

It could in time become a more extensive/easily updatable beginners guide to fund raising

It could inc links to motivational sites or inc songs uploaded by staff

While sensitive areas could remain inhouse it could be opened up more generally to other face 2 face fundraisers.

Users could potentially text the site the days results in the future for ease of use.

This element of the site would hopefully act as a way to gather an extensive manuel for new starters and current teams alike.

A sort of inhouse wiki that can easily be updated and added to by current and future staff to build up a detailed map of each site including pics/maps/video/local tips and which would also have the benefit of being structured as an online training fascility for fund raisers inclined to utilise it.

With the amount of new starters we constantly get year after year this would act as a testement to some and a guide to others.

Users would have to register directly with this site to use the private sections though there is a way that peoples facebook entry password might be used to access priavte staff section of the site in future.

All staff could also have a registered gmail address me@searching4shelter.com should they want one (what the hell it’s free)

Within 6 months new starters could access this part of the site and seach for a site and bring up relevant site location info/previous stats/meet points (even for different team leaders/ travel details to each location/ pics & vids of area/ rotas and tally sheets to print out if need be/and permanent recognition of achievement

Online archive of key note speakers at johno’s monthly meetings. Simple enough to video and upload for future reference.
